Today, I pulled up Blogger to show the students the value of checking it for review. We then finished discussing EQ: motivation, empathy, and social skills. I then handed out a copy of the first assignment with these notes attached. We discussed the assignment. I also handed out the rubrics for this assignment and we discussed this. In addition, I showed a clip entitled "Joey writes a Letter" from YouTube to show how the overuse of complex words can be as damaging as the minimization of them. Finally, I explained to students that they will be involved in ReadingPlus, a program to see their reading levels. This will take place Thursday and Friday. Basically, half of the class will be doing this activity each day while the other half works on their paragraphs. The paragraphs will be due on Friday at the end of class.
